Hey this probably sounds like a dumb question. However i'm unclear on how an open beta will work (this being my first beta experience.. well besides the two weekends of closed beta)

So my question is, do you have to sign up for an open beta somewhere? or can anone with a computer just hop on and give it a try if they download the client? Reason i ask is because im sure i can get in to the open somehow beings i pre ordered and all, but i want to play with one of my friends who didnt, so im just looking for a little clarification.

Also If you have heard any word on when the open beta will be that would be helpful(tho u probably dont know, i know there is supposed to be an anouncement this week.. been watching the aiononline website daily) But anyways Anyone who has an answer to one or more of these questions please be sure you know what your talking about (unlike me, lol) Thanks for the help

Open betas are... open to everyone. NCsoft hasn't made an annoucement about this yet. But as far as I (and the community) know(s), it will be open to everyone. You don't need to preorder the game to enter.

Just like you, I don't know much about the open beta either. I'm waiting for the announcement

I know right? it seems like a terribly long wait till the inevitable open beta and eventual Sep. 22 Relese (for some of us i hear about a 2 day headstart for those of us who pre-ordered?? not sure how reliable that is..but it seems like alot of ppl are saying that so its bound to be the case)

I mean.. the Closed beta just closed like what? on the 17th .. days seem to be dragging by. But open betas gotta be soon.. from what ive read most ppl assume its gonna be a 2 week beta .. with like a little bit of time after the beta for final touches before launch. I have a feeling its gonna be like Sep. 1st or something along those lines. In any case im sure im not the only one to say, Aion just cant get here soon enough!

If you happen to get your copy in time, you will be getting a 48 hours headstart. That is, assuming the shop wherever you're ordered it from delivers it in time.

Would be sweet if it was a 2 week beta. Would give you plenty of time to test out stuff.

Well like i said before.. i dont know how reliable the sources are, but from what ive read, if you pre ordered it, you get the 2 day headstart, you DONT get ur game 2 days eirly, you just log on without the game, and u have 2 days to level and such (without your bonus items from preorder / CE) and then when the game releses you just register your serial code and get ur bonus items.

I also read from somewhere else that we will get to pre design our characters (for those of us who preordered) after the open beta is closed.. but i dont know how someone could possibly know that unless it has been on the aiononline site ( maybe they are going on how it went with the chinese beta and relese? who knows..

But ya ever since i read about the 2 weeks thing been havin my fingers crossed lol
