I've just made the small changes necessary to reduce my ping, and it went from 300-350 to about 100-150. So this really works, and the change is even more noticeable if your normal ping is above 300.

To start this process, you have to open your "Register-editor" in Windows. You can do this by pressing "Start" and pick the "Run" option. In here you type "regedit"

This will open up the "Registry-editor". You will have to find your way to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CURRENTCONTROLSET -> SERVICES -> TCPIP -> PARAMETERS -> INTERFACES

Then there will be some large hex keys for your actual network adapters. You will need to click on the one that matches your internet adapter [it will show a ton of information containing all your network details, such as your assign DHCP Address and server info].

Once you have identified the correct adapter, you add a new DWORD 32bit named "TcpAckFrequency", and then update its value to 1 by right clicking it.

After this, reboot your PC and log on Aion to find out your new and reduced ping! Share your experience with the rest of us if you've done this neat little trick.

I do it everytime I reinstall my windows. It's like the ultimate tweak for online gaming.

It's usually the longest one that contains IP's like 192.168.0.12 or something like this. If you can find your router's IP there, then it's the right one.

This is a really good post and i know from experience that it works. I used it on wow for low latency in arena.

I did the same thing in WoW, but for raiding.

My normal ping for online games is 180-200 but when playing Aion its 480-550 and even after applying this fix its still the same. I even used scripts that does the same thing so I don't make a mistake in my registry but with the same result.

I tried connecting with only my modem and with my router with the same results is there any other way to get a better ping aside from moving to the server geographical location naturally

I had the latency issue as well , and tried the trick posted from admin (thanks for the guide ) but sadly it doesn't work well for me .The ping i have is still the same untill i found this service www.laglessproxy.com , this tunneling service managed to reduce my latency by HALF!!(incase anyone need to solve thier latency problem)

Now i am playing it happily and really LagLess however thier website name it lol
