This shouldn't be a problem for most of the groups. The boss, Calindi Flamelord, however can be. You should be entering this fight with as much fire resistance as possible. Think about a fire resistance scroll, food, equipment and of course Chanter buffs. Once you get your fire resistance to a certain point, it will get easier. Calindi Flamelord does a s kill called "Powerful Knockdown" which is actually powerful. This skill has a 15 meter ranger and hits everything within this ranger. If you're on 16 meter or further, you won't get hit by this skill. It will also do a skill called "Explosive Wrath" which is a AoE fear and has a 5 meter ranger. If you get hit by this, the chance if you walking in the lava and burn yourself to dead is pretty high. This skill can be easily avoided.

When the A rank boss closes towards 55% of its HP, it will do a skill called "Rise my faithful servants" which will summon 4 normal monster to each side of the island. Calindi Flamelord will keep doing this skill every minute until you or it dies. At about 25% of its HP Calindi Flamelord won't be summoning 4 normal monsters anymore, but 2 elite monsters. If you have a group with a Sorcerer and a Spiritmaster in your group, the elite monsters can be easily slept and feared.

Here is Calindi Flamelord's huge drop list, I'll leave out the blue stuff since that's not too important:

<a style="color: #ffc103; Brigade General Anuhart is kind of easy to kill. It doesn't have major skills you should be aware of but you can't fall asleep either. When you first start to attack Brigade General Anuhart it will do a wide area stun on the platform he's standing on, so wait and let your tank go in first, after that you can charge in. Also, do not move him off his platform, this will result in him resetting.

Until 75% the only big skill Brigade General Anuhart does is "Wide Power Attack" which is a frontal cone. So have your tank Have your tank face something else then your group and it shouldn't be a problem.

At 75% Brigade General Anuhart will do a skill called "Summoning Ritual". This will put a shield around him and summon 4 additional monsters which are easily killed. After this Brigade General Anuhart does nothing special till a bit over 25%. That's when it does his "Absorb Energy" skill. This will recover his HP by about 25%. The Absorb Energy can be negated by a Assassin's Aether Twist, a Templar's Aether Armor or the amount it heals for can be reduced by a rangers Fleshcutter Arrow.

After 25% Brigade General Anuhart will do his "Summoning Ritual" skill every 30 seconds until he's dead. All in all, not a hard boss to kill. And this is reflected in his drops, which aren't that great. Because each of the bosses will spawn 4 purple balls and they will only disappear after all 3 of the bosses are dead. The scariest skill Spiritmaster Atmach does is a skill called "Reflect" and "Endless Power". Whenever this buff is on the boss, do not attack it. If you do, you will most probably die. This buff can be removed by a Spiritmaster. Another dangerous move is "Powerful Petrifaction". This will petrify a random team member which makes him useless for a few seconds. But this debuff can be removed by a Cleric. The additional monster Spiritmaster Atmach will spawn when it's low on health, you can just ignore. It will vanish once the boss is dead.

2, 3, 4: Marabata of Power, Marabata of Poison and Marabata of Magic

All the Marabata bosses are the same and need to be killed the same way. So if you know how to kill 1 of them, you know how to kill all of them. The trick with the Marabata bosses are the boosters / controllers (from here on called boosters) they have surrounding them. Each of the boosters does something else and each one of them has to be killed by a certain class.

When you move your mouse over a booster, it will tell you how it can be killed. For example, the defense booster can only be attacked by a melee class with close ranged attacks. If a ranged class attacks it from distance, the damage he or she does will be reflected to him.

Out of the 3 boosters, the one attack booster is the most dangerous one. Kill this one as soon as possible. The defense booster will give the Marabata a shield around his, which makes physical attacks useless as long as the shield is on him. DoT's (damage over time) will still damage the Marabata through its shield. The third booster, the Marabata Property Controller, will call monsters within an area to the Marabata, so make sure you clear the area before you still killing the bosses. If you read the description on the boosters you will be just fine. The boosters spawn every so often and need to be killed as soon as possible.

5, 6: Noah’s Furious Shade & Spectral Elim Elder (The Tree Bosses)

These 2 bosses are very dangerous and if you don't know what you're doing, you'll definitely wipe your group here. First problem with the Tree Bosses is that you need to find them. Not only can they be in a hidden state, but they also patrol a certain area, so unlike most of the other bosses, they are not always on the same spot.

After you've found them, you need to drag them to either an open area, where you can run away from their big AoE (Area of Effect) skills. Or you need to find object which you can hide behind, resulting in you and your group not being hit be the bosses AoE skills.

The boss attacks with Grudge Wound often. This is a single target skill and will hit the tank 99% of the time. This skill alone won't kill anyone. But when the boss is at about 25% of its HP, it will cast a skill called "Root Entangle" and will put a debuff on everyone who's within a certain range making them move very slowly. Once the boss is back from its hidden state, it will use a skill called "Deep Grudge Wound". This skill alone won't kill anyone either. But if you still have the debuff on you, you will most probably die in 1 hit. That's why you need to run out of range (30meter) or hide behind an object.

7, 8, 9: Spaller Echtra, Spaller Dhatra & Spaller Rakantra (The Bug Bosses)

These 3 bosses have the same skills and are killed in the same way. Before you start killing these bosses, you will have to clear an area around the "Drana Lumps", so that you have enough space to run freely between 2 of them. This is crucial!

Once the area is clear, you will drag any of the bug bosses on top of a drana lump. If the boss isn't on a drana lump, it will receive very little damage from people. The DoT's however, do the usual damage. To do regular damage on this boss, they have to be on a drana lump and they should be eating it.

While the boss is eating the lump, all physical damage will deal normal damage and all magical damage will deal about twice the usual damage. If the boss is about to move away from the drana lump, the buff he has will run out and it will give you a sign to move to the second drana lump.

When you are at the second drana lump, make sure you stand on the outer edge of the crater the drana lump is in. This will make sure the boss will go on the drana lump quickly. If it doesn't go on it the first try, keep moving around. Keep moving the boss over the drana lump to make sure it will eat the lump. All of the 3 bosses can be killed on the same 2 drana lumps.

10: Telepathy Controller

The Telepathy Controller is yet another boss which is annoying to kill. This boss has a lot of AoE skills and will stun the whole group very often. Because the boss is located in a small area, there is no avoiding the AoE skills. Your Cleric will just have to heal everyone as best as he or she can.

When the Telepathy Controller is at about 75% of its HP, it will spawn an elite monster. This is a non agro monster and when it's left alone, it will not attack anyone. If someone attacks it however, it has to be killed.

Other then the elite monster it spawn, it spawns 2 little worms every so often. You can ignore those and just focus on the boss. The worms will explode and deal damage, but this isn't something major as long as the Cleric is paying attention.

After the Telepathy Controller is dead, it will do a skill twice where it pulls the group to him and dealing damage in the process. Be aware of this and have your Cleric top off everyone’s HP.

Also see Dark Poeta - Telepathy Controller

11, 12, 13: Main Power Generator, Auxiliary Power Generator & Emergency Generator

The trick with these 3 bosses is to kill 1 after the other without picking up the items the boss dropped. The quicker you do it and the more points you get, the stronger the final boss will be. There are a lot of strategies involved in killing the S, A, B and C rank bosses. It's so much that it will be written in a new article.

Also see: Dark Poeta - A Rank Boss - Calandi Flamelord
1: Spiritmaster Atmach This is the first boss in Dark Poeta and one of the easiest one kill it.

Because each of the bosses will spawn 4 purple balls and they will only disappear after all 3 of the bosses are dead.

Having said that, another point that needs attention is the position of the person that is being attacked by the boss. Because the boss attacks with AoE skills, it's recommended that the person pulling agro is standing away from the rest of the group. This way the healing will be a lot easier and the chance of wiping a lot smaller.

At about 75% and 25% of the boss' HP, it will spawn the purple balls and when it does that, the melee characters in the group should move away from the boss, so that they don't die. This time I'll be writing about the video I posted on YouTube, because sometimes text is better than video. The Telepathy Controller is the boss after the Bug bosses. It's not really hard to kill, but there are a few things you have to keep in mind when killing this boss of course. The first thing to pay attention to is, stick together. The boss Telepathy Controller does a lot of AoE damage, so if your group isn't standing together, the cleric won't be able to heal everyone. So, stick togetger! Next point. At 75% the Telepathy Controller will spawn an Elite monster. If you can control your AoE skill, there is no need to fight this monster because it will not attack anyone. However, if you've attacked it, make sure you focus all your dps on it and kill it as quick as possible. Besides that 1 elite add, there will be 2 other worm type monster that will spawn. It's no use paying attention to them because they will explode anyway. Just make sure you cleric pays attention when they blow up. Once you've killed the Telepathy Controller it will do a skill which pulls everyone together and deals a nice amount of damage while doing this. If you don't get out of range, it will do the skill twice, so be aware! And that's all there is to it. If you pay attention to the 4 points I just mentioned, you should be fine. The way this is done is pretty much the same for every single MMORPG out there, but most of the MMORPGs have a different way of looting the corpse. The same goes for Aion. In Aion there are 4 different ways of looting a corpse. Let's see what these are.1. You can loot a corpse by right clicking the corpse. After this a box will pop up with the items you can loot. If you want to loot the items, you can right click on the items 1 by 1. Alternatively you can press the [Attack/Chat] icon while having the corpse selected to run over to the corpse and open up the loot window. [This is useful for when you run low on inventory space and you want to actually pick the items you want] 2. The second way of looting a corpse would be to right click the corpse. Like you just read, this will pop up a window with the available items you can pick. This time you don't right click the items 1 by 1, but you click on the "Take All" button. As you expect, clicking on the "Take All' button will loot every available item [as long as you have space in your inventory]. This is particularly useful for when you have enough space in your inventory and you want to sell up everything you can to make Kinah [Aion's version of gold]

3. The previous 2 ways of looting a corpse involved manual labor. The third way of looting a corpse is fully automatic. The first way of auto looting a corpse is to keep the SHIFT button pressed down and then to right click the corpse [World of Warcraft players will remember this]. When you do this, your character will walk towards the corpse and loot everything he/she can automatically as long as you have space in your inventory.

4. This is my personal favorite. The 4th way to loot a corpse, which is also automatic, is to press the "Pick Up Item" icon This is an icon which is automatically placed on your hotbar as soon as you create your character and log in. Doing this will also automatically loot the corpse.

Now you probably wonder "Will this really save me time?" It will definitely save you time. And the time you save up will add up quicker if you're a person who loves to grind. Just think about it. Every monster you kill and loot automatically will save you a second or 2. When you kill 100's and 1000's of monsters per day and you save 1 or 2 seconds per monster by looting automatically, by the end of the days you will have saved a lot of time which you can then spend on something more productive. So loot automatically and be a better player! When you kill 100's and 1000's of monsters per day and you save 1 or 2 seconds per monster by looting automatically, by the end of the days you will have saved a lot of time which you can then spend on something more productive. So loot automatically and be a better player! This will be a short post about some of the PvP we did in the Pitchfork Ville (Eltnen). This is a great place for PvP. When we were getting closer to our usual spot, we found out there was a crapload of other Asmodians around, ganking poor Elyos. So we joined them to fight at our usual spot. The result? A massive fight for a couple minutes, and the usual running back when there are just TOO many Elyos to fight. Though, I still think we should have stood there and died like brave (read foolish) warriors! The second bit of the video is about the Fire Temple quest boss called Sacred Chalice Protector Denlavis. If you've seen the video about the other boss in the Fire Temple, you will notice quickly that Sacred Chalice Protector Denlavis actually hits like a wet fish. Even the normal monsters around it hit harder than he does.

Sacred Chalice Protector Denlavis is a part of the Fire Temple quest and after you beat him down, you have to loot the body.

That's about it for this video, it's just a filler one till the game releases on September 22nd. I hope you enjoy it.

If you haven't watched the video yet, click the image below

{rokbox title=|Hyenas In Aion & Fire Temple Quest Boss| thumb=|images/homepage/hyenas-fire-temple.jpg| size=|854 505|}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-K-MY7ZQCw&hd=1&autoplay=1{/rokbox}
Video #21. I'm not sure at which level you can do this, but our entire group of 6 did it at level 30. The highest level monsters we fought inside were level 37 and because there is a big gap between the monster's level and our level, we barely did any damage to them. But, it all ended up well. This was the formation of the group we entered with. FailSauce - 30 Templar Drakenwode - 30 Templar Cira - 30 Chanter Losso - 30 Assassin Coy - 30 Gladiator Jupiter - 30 Spiritmaster This was actually a nice setup because to get to the boss (named Corrupt Judge Kromede) we've gotten to, having 2 templars in the group really helped out. I'm not saying you can't do it with 1 templar, but having 2 in the group makes it easier. We've got 3 people that are semi-high to high dps and we've got 1 semi-healer who can also dps. Having a chanter instead of a cleric will make things easier at the boss, but if you use the tactic we did, a chanter will be more than enough.

Don't get wiped!
If you watched the video, you'll see that we got 2 near wipes, but still managed to keep going. If everyone in the group had died, we were forced to start from the beginning of the Fire Temple instance. You might wonder how we managed to survive. Let me explain.

If it looks your group is going to get wiped, make sure someone in your group runs the boss off. Get it as far away from the person that's going to do the ressurections as possible. This way you make sure the boss won't aggro anyone. While you run off the boss, make sure you're in a position to get ressurected easily. Whenever it looked like our group was going to get wiped, I took aggro of the boss and ran it towards the entrance of the cave.

Time for tactics
Killing this boss took us over 30 minutes and the main reason for this is the first two time we tried to kill this boss, we failed. And we failed because we thought we could kill this boss like the ones we killed before, by just tanking and spanking. The result? We almost got wiped twice.

So we had to use a little bit of tactics. Out chanter suggested that our tank should tank it from a distance, so that the Area of Effect (AoE) attacks didn't hit the people around the main tank. Because the boss uses a bow to attack, this tactic actually worked. Not only did his main AoE attack not damage the rest of the group, but the traps/mines the boss lays don't damage the main tank. So this is an ideal tactic for this boss. Once you get the hang of it, it'll go down smoothly.

Finally, items!
Here is a simple list of items which we've gotten from Corrupt Judge Kromede and items that others have gotten from Corrupt Judge Kromede.

Kromede's Off Hand Sword

Kromede's Jewel

Kromede's Longbow

Kromede's Silver-decorated Knife

Kromede's Spear

Kromede's Staff

Kromede's Sword

Kromede's Magic Book

Kromede's Warhammer

Artifact of Silence

Kromede's Necklace

Flame Chain Hood

Cloth Bandana of Flame

Flame Helmet

Plate Helmet of Flame

Because the rewards from Corrupt Judge Kromede are so nice, the Fire Temple is a nice place to farm at level 30. I thought we had killed all the 'Chieftain' bosses in the earlier videos, but I was wrong. We've got another one. This time it's the Chieftain Kiwanunu. The Chieftain Kiwanunu is a level 30 boss and has quite some items in its drop table. But before we get to that, let's go over some tactics.

As you can see in the video, we attack the Ice Claw Elite Summoner first. We did this because we thought this was the stronger of the 2. We were right about it being the stronger one, but little did we know that the Ice Claw Elite Healer had such crazy heals. It started off with us not being able to kill the Summoner because we lacked the attack power for it and we didn't have a Scorcerer in the group that could sleep the Healer.

It was time for a change of plans and we started to attack the Healer now. As you could see in the vdeo, the Healer dropped like a sack of sh*t and the Summoner followed quickly after him. Which left us with the boss, Chieftain Kiwanunu. This boss hits pretty hard, but if you have a Chanter, or even a Cleric in your group, your tank shouldn't have to die.

Oh and an extra tip for the Spiritmasters among us. To fight this boss and it's minions, use the Water Spirit. It might not have the highest attack of all the Spirits at level 30, but because it attacks from a distance, it will stay out of harms way.

Now the juicy part you've been waiting for. The items the Chieftain Kiwanunu drops. Oh and this is video 16 by the way. In this video you'll see me leveling in the Abyss. I'm level 29 and I'm leveling on level 27-29 monsters, which is perfect for me. The reason it's perfect for me, is because I'm a Spiritmaster. As you know, Spiritmasters get to use their Spirits (or summons or however you want to call them). The Spirit I'm using in the video is the Fire Spirit. The reason I'm using this one to tank and attack is simple. The Fire Spirit has a good defense and a nice attack. I could use the Water or Wind Spirit for the damage, but those Spirits would die too fast. If I used the Earth Spirit, the damage output would have been reduced by quite a bit. And just a DYI. Did you know that the attack power of the Earth Spirit will be reduced in patch 1.5?

Anyway, you can see on the map where this footage was taken. That island if a pretty safe spot and doesn't get raided too often. And that's 1 of the reasons I'm leveling there. Another reasson I'm leveling there and in the Abyss, is because of the huge DP points you gain per monster. In the video you see the bar jump up with every monster. Because of the huge DP gain, a Spiritmaster can afford to level with his Spirit constantly powered up.

Oh and not to forget, if you level in the Abyss, you get Abyss Points for every monster you kill. If you're like me and you don't mind grinding, you can easily pay for some nice Abyss gear at level 30, which I did. {rokbox title=|Aquamarine Ring of Devilishness| text=|As you can see in the picture| size=|561 350|}images/homepage/aquamarine-ring-of-devilishness.jpg{/rokbox}, I'm wearing 2 of the 'Aquamarine Ring of Devilishness' which cost me 2x 14.700 Abyss points.

To end this post. If you are a Spiritmaster and you love grinding. Just try to mimic what you saw in the video (if you haven't seen it yet, click the image below) and you'll be able to afford nice Abyss gear at level 30 and you'll level up nicely.

{rokbox title=|Aion Gameplay - Spiritmaster Solo Leveling In Lower Abyss| thumb=|images/homepage/spiritmaster-solo-level.jpg| size=|854 505|}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE9T3UaiOiI&hd=1&autoplay=1{/rokbox}
This video is all about me!

{rokbox title=|Aion Gameplay - Spiritmaster Solo Leveling In Lower Abyss| thumb=|images/homepage/spiritmaster-solo-level.jpg| size=|854 505|}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE9T3UaiOiI&hd=1&autoplay=1{/rokbox}
Poll Result: I Want To See Videos About... 2009-08-17T19:44:56Z 2009-08-17T19:44:56Z http://theaionguy.com/aion-blog/item/13-poll-result-i-want-to-see-videos-about.html The first ever Poll for this website, and I must say that more people voted that I'd expected in the first place. I'd like to thank everyone that took their time to vote on the poll. The reason for the poll was simple. I wanted to know what kind of videos the audience wanted to see, so I could hit the 'record' button at the right time while I'm playing. But as you can see in the graph the votes are pretty even, meaning I will continue making videos about all 3 aspects of the game. It has more HP than the Judge Flame Bolcan, but unlike the Judge Flame Bolcan, it doesn't summon addition monsters around it. This is a video where you can just sit back, relax and watch. This one is all about relaxed leveling as a guild and just chatting with each other while you are slowly getting your level. Most of us were trying to get level 28, so we could get our new set of skills and do some propper PvP.

The place we're leveling at is Taran's cave in Morheim. The monsters we level on are level 26-28. They are stronger than normal monsters and weaker than elites, so there are somewhere inbetween. Taran's Cave isn't the best place to level, but if you are with a guild group, it doesn't really matter where you level actually. As long as you are having fun, it's all good.

When you're watching the video, pay attention at 05:47. On the right side of your screen you'll see a purple-ish crystal or whatever you may call it. There is a level 26 quest called '(Group) Legendary Amethyst' which gives you 34800XP and 7800 Kinah. At least you know what they look like now.

In the video you can see that we're getting a few items dropped. It's King Zugog and this is 1 fast bugger. Try not to accidentally aggro it because it will not leave you alone. Had to find this out the hard way if you know what I mean. This boss does hit hard and if you're not careful and you've got a louzy tank, you will die within a few hits. That said, let's jump to the juicy stuff. The drops! As far as I know, the boss drops 5 items. The one you see in the video is the sword. Which we've sold for 300.000 so we could upgrade our guild to rank 3 and get ourselves a nice logo. That's why I'd like to ask you if you could record yourself killing King Zugog and getting an item which is not listed above. If you have any footage of you getting that drop, please let me know.

If you are looking for the boss, you look at where the yellow star is located:

And in case you haven't seen the video yet, just click on the image below.
